One For The Money Book Cover

Plot: Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl), out of work and out of cash, turns in desperation to her disreputable cousin Vinnie, of Vinnie's Bail Bonds, for work. Despite having no equipment, training or particular skill she becomes a bail enforcement agent , chasing after Vinnie's highest stakes bail jumper: Joe Morelli, a former vice cop who is wanted for murder, who also happened to seduce and dump Stephanie back in high school.
In the midst of the chase, Stephanie has to deal with meddling family, a problematic tendency of witnesses to die when she gets too close, and lessons in bounty hunting from the mysterious Ranger (Daniel Sunjata). When she finally catches up to Morelli, she realizes that the case against him doesn't add up and that the old flame from their school days may just be rekindling.

Fortunately, the kidnappers don't yet know who the boy is, but when Cole goes undercover to try to buy the two hostages back, he himself is taken and disappears. Now it is up to Pike to retrace Cole's steps, burning through the hard and murderous world of human traffickers . . . before it is too late.

For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard.

Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes. The door to the hotel room is kicked open and gunfire erupts all around Rapp. In an instant the hunter has become the hunted. Rapp is left wounded and must flee for his life.

ID First Editions 7th Edition

Announcing the Seventh Edition of
A Pocket Guide to the Identification of First Editions
by Bill McBride

McBride, “Compiled over the last ten years, the Seventh Edition will comprise new publishers since 2000, publishers we did not include in the Sixth Edition for lack of reliable information, and changes to existing publishers in the years 2000-2011.

We expect the content revision to be in excess of 2000 items of information: previously-unlisted publishers from 1850 to 2011, or changes in already-listed publishers from the Sixth Edition. The Sixth Edition listed 3642 publishers, as a point of comparison. The Seventh will list in excess of 4600. For practicality and field utility, we have used a lighter, stronger paper to keep the bulk of the book approximately the same as the Sixth Edition.

With the demise of Zempel & Verkler’s Guide, last updated in 2001 and now out of print, our Seventh Edition becomes the only available guide to this scholarship and the most up-to-date.”
