Randy's comments: This is the first Doc Ford novel -- written because the federal government closed Tarpon Bay Marina on Sanibel Island in 1987 and I, a full time fishing guide, had to find a way to make a living. I like this book very much -- particularly the scenes of Ford in his skiff on the water. The greatest compliment I get is from other water people who come up to me and say: "The way you describe Pine Island Sound and running a skiff, that's exactly the way it is."
